As announced in my last blog-post from Dec. 29th, 2013, I start the year for you with a series of 7 blog-posts about becoming an empowered decision maker. This first (1) post is about listing our first successes in life and our business life.
SUCCESS is defined by the WikiPedia as “reaching your own goals”.
Each success needs to be described by a goal. We have wishes and dreams, everyone of us. And some wishes or dreams are so BIG that we decide to write them on our ToDo-list to make them a reachable goal. A goal is linked to a certain time frame. We learn this in sports, where every success is measured by certain numbers.
Goals in business are either economically or career oriented. Ideally in the end we reach both! But this needs a well thought-out strategy and this comes with no guarantee.
All of this belongs to our goal setting strategy, underlined by our matching decisions. But before we should look into our future, let´s first check out our past! We´ve made quite some decisions in our past, right? Fact: the results of our decisions escorted us to where we are right now, inclusively me.
What are you proud of? What did you reach so far?
I bet when looking back it´s the goals you set yourself – those goals you reached. Each of it is a success. We all start with goals we have to reach, at some point (in school) – and by the time we can let go of our parents advices we start deciding for ourselves. This is where our self-leadership phase starts! And this is the point in life where we add our talents to it. It´s our talents that lead us into a certain direction. This talent-driven direction is necessary to meet the “right” people for us in life.
We all started working on our biggest dreams for life and for business organizations, and we still do. One goal leads to the next. To achive them we have to decide to do so. It´s that simple.
Now sit down (if your time allows to) and think about all your goals, your successes and the connected feelings which delivered pride in your life. Be sure to notice that exactly this path you just wrote down is all about your decision making in life. Knowing all your successes in combination with your talents is the first step for becoming an empowered decision maker! Step out –
BE A DECISION MAKER. BE OUTSTANDING.
