The 1st Decision We Took

March 23, 2014 | Filed under: rita

To deliver you the best insights of our daily decision making and to be able to show how to improve it, I went deep down the rabbit hole.

No kidding:  do you recall right away when you made the first big decisions in and FOR your life?  I  honestly thought about it for a while, until…….   So, when did I sit down to think about my future and wishes and why did I make my first decisions ?

EXACTLY!  🙂

It was during one of those cold childhood-winters, after I was able to write a list.

The first big decisions I took in life was when making first choices and then deciding which ones are the most important.  I was deciding when I wrote my “wish list” for Santa Claus!  Do you recall your wish list writing?  And this was when it started in our mind….. choosing!

Back then, we choose what to get (for free) and what to do with it.  It was our own choice, hopefully fulfilled without the leadership of the parents.  But what about the consequences?  We primarily chose because we wanted to own something (new), we wanted to have something new to play with and to show our friends what we got!  We wouldn´t know how long the result we hoped for would last.

We decided without knowing anything about the consequences of our decision.  It all turned out to become the early learning curve for our lives!  We were not responsible for purchasing (carry the cost) the wish-item nor did we have a chance to be prepared for its connected consequences…. however it effected our life afterwards!

…… right?

Maybe think about for a minute how often you still make a wish list (which is good as a New Year Resolution) and how often you set firm goals and prepare well for your decision-steps to reach them, weighting the consequences, cost and benefit up-front.

BE A DECISION MAKER.  BE OUTSTANDING.
