I had a job interview almost 2 weeks ago, when applying for a new project – quite a perfect fit for my competencies in the German Automotive Biz. What can I say: the interview went very well on that Friday morning. I was invited to my most favourite Company, here in NRW and in the end, the other candidate who offered 4 languages fluently, won. I heard it was tight for me and such is life!
I knew that a 3d and 4th language as a skill more and more becomes a tough rival to me, so I had to face that being business fluent in English isn´t an ace anymore. It hurt pretty much because….. since a few years I was day dreaming about working with or working for TESLA, one day. Well, this Company is a supplier of TESLA and my chance to reach this goal was gone within 35 minutes….
In the meantime TESLA, led by Elon Musk, comes up with a DECISION process which was pretty much unexpected and it carries this information from TWITTER: ” Am considering taking Tesla private at $420. Funding secured.” That was quite an interesting tweet!
Lets have a deeper look at the WHY of this decision, which isn´t yet signed nor valid: TESLA needs an environment where it can operate at its best.
What happened in the past?
Becoming a member of the stock market changed the way this company was being led: raucous up- and downturns of the stock price kept on leading to numerous distractions. This is not what the staff and shares holders need and want. Finally, it seems to me that this particular bank business model is not the rescue to change games on the global market and be a guarantor for endless buiness growth. Speed during a growth process never is good.
Now the world will have a look at this new potential decision and we´ll get to know the result!
I think this is a very good example of what Decision Making is about – changing things which aren´t supportive to a serious goal. Such decisions speed-up things which might go into a wrong direction, longtermly and I think that this is where the SPEED Factor belongs.
BE A DECISION MAKER. BE OUTSTANDING.
