Stuck? Start New With A Blank Page
“Miller, we need to clarify this issue tonight at the dinner-meeting with our customer. Please write this query new and place the question directly to them. We need their clear answer with names by tonight to not lose any more time on this project. The process is cut short already, we can´t risk to lose more time on this matter.”
Miller stared onto his screen. He looked at his presentation slide and started silently changing the message. He planned to adjust the written sentences but nothing happened for some minutes. He was stuck. He called a team-member for support and both were stuck.
STOP!
If you ever have to change a self written text, of which you think you can just change it by flipping some words here and there while deleting the last 3 words of the sentence – no: it won´t work in business. (It will work when writing a novel or a book thou´…)
If you get a new task, if you have to ask for something new – always start with a blank page. If you have to ask your customer for one specific answer, then place this question on the blank page on top. Below place the second info you need: the names who shall deliver the infos. Then write down the date when to finish the project. Cut it short!
If you have to re-start: just write down the single one step to follow next and fulfill. The less text you write on your “to-do” list, the better you keep it in mind. Decide to only go for the most important things in business and life. And then do it – that´s it!
BE A DECISION MAKER. BECOME OUTSTANDING.
