An old mathematical equation is
PERFORMANCE = Can * Will
Which message does it include? The more we know (education) the more we can perform. The more motivated we are (with the increased knowledge) the bigger our will to perform.
CAN multiplied with our WILL is what we PERFORM in our life.
And how does this match to our decision making habit?
CAN = information (individual education)
WILL = the drive to get somewhere (goal)
DECISION = the motor to drive (us) towards to the goal
But people say it´s PAIN which drives us for change and the will for change leads us through the land of the relevant decisions and consequences. Is it true?
I personally don´t think it´s relevant and offer today this personal thought: it´s more fun and rather stress-less to make driven decisions than waiting until we have to decide in pain!
I am sure we make better decision when we decide in a driven mode compared to deciding under stress and in pain. For making smart decisions we need to be informed and research takes time and interest. The less stress we feel, the more motivated we are to be informed and to educate us. Right? Think about it for a moment.
Soon we enter the new year and whatever New Years Resolutions we plan for entering the year 2016, if it´s mostly driven decisions there´s less pressure we feel behind our plan! Instead we can go with increased descipline into the new year – a tendency which is more healthy than waiting for negative pressure for change. Discipline just asks for controlled action and repetition…. action and repetition….
Are you ready?
BE A DECISION MAKER. BE OUTSTANDING.
