Mindful Deciding
Taking care of the right decision problem is most relevant for a fast success when solving trouble. What, if a negative thought pattern blocks you from being rational and cool when most relevant?
What, if you´re distracted by negativity? Imagine, you can´t believe it´ll work out quick.
Let me introduce you today to 5 mindful practices to uncover a negative thought pattern. Cutting short your outlook ability (“yes, it´ll work out!”) will interfere with your rational decision process and might lead you to a rather undesirable alternative. As a result, you get away from successful decision making.
For you, I offer a short extract of the following blog-post by Dawa Tarchin Phillips from June:
1) Inquire and identify repetitive thoughts and behaviors
Irrespective from your regular thought habits, think of your self-talk! Watch your self-communication when working on a decision problem. Be mindful! You might also work with the method of “factual image description” which I recommend in one of my video clips: image description
2) Get out of “I – am – ness”
thinking
Try to see problems and stressful situations from a distance. Cut off your potential short-term emotions. Self-centered thinking keeps us into the situation and we can´t get out of it to see everything from the distance – from above, like from a helpful META position. Additionally to the original post you might watch my video clip about the META-position on my Youtube channel.
3) Maintain focus on your goals and frame them for mastery
Goal oriented thinking and acting is what we do when we make clear decisions. Therefore, to get away from a negative thought pattern –> go into the direction of controlled decision making. Prepare a needful decision process to focus on the goal. It helps for your (abstract) orientation!
4) Invite new thought narratives into your life
Become responsible for your mental conditioning and read about a quick exercise to practice your self reflection as an additional method. Changing your outlook ability into a more positive direction and further into the future is one solution!
5) Bring greater feeling into the new thought narratives
Cultivating a positive attitude, inclusively your emotions, is an important part of a confident decider and it also belongs to changing a negative thought pattern. Take care of your thoughts when preparing your decisions! Make sure you self-communicate with facts and from a distance. This is a main point I mention in my eBook. It also belongs to uncovering your thought patterns.
