Today I write about some relevant basics you “need to” obey when improving your decision making ability:
What do you need mostly?
- META thinking
- WILL power
- piloting IMPROVEMENT
- readiness for the WORST CASE, incl. corrections (!)
The META thinking ability is the most important mindset you need to use when deciding! It takes you away from the trouble you think you´ll face when deciding because META thinking puts you on a stage with less emotional distraction. (Hopefully! It´s up to your mental training….)
META means, moving mentally on a higher position to reach distance from the “battle field” you´re in. It changes your perspective of the trouble you´re facing. Distance minimizes the detailed view and vicinity and puts the bigger picture together, right in front of your eyes: Bird´s eye view, that´s META.
What do you need secondly?
> handle comparisons effectively to benefit from (!)
In case you have to decide various things in a row –>> you may use the pairwise
- A or B ?
- C or D ?
- E or F ?
The basis for this black and white comparison method is the most meaningful impact ( A or B ?) behind one of two choices, which you will have to prioritize. Prioritizing means to decide what is most important, i.e. as a next step! The pairwise comparison is a method of minimizing your choices. As a result you completely “delete” the other choice of each pair. You may write it into a matrix.
This is a systematic method for getting ahead in life. Especially when there is just 1 decider – YOU. Voting is how groups decide. You as a person – you vote for one choice only, as a next step of your staircase of improvement! Each step shall be a benefit to reach your goal.
Your take-away today are the 4 mental aspects and the pairwise comparison matrix for minimizing irrelevant choices. FOCUS on steady improvement!
