Get away from the abstract when you´re into decision making!
“But how?” ….. is what you may ask yourself now.
In any case, start getting away from just discussing the choices and the final decision with yourself and with others. Make the single steps and issues visible! Use clarity.
Clarity offers a huge benefit:
when we combine textual and visual information, like in a graph/chart, then this linking of linguistic and non-linguistic elements supports the cooperation of both hemispheres which leads to better processing of the combined information.
The message seems more comprehensible – we are simply more accessible for a picture-message!
Remember? A picture speaks louder than 1.000 words.
There are several ways or methods to sort your open or researched information into several groups!
The benefit of grouping your relevant information is that you can easily view from which areas or companies you still need answers. It can be certain people or a department whom or which you still need to contact, so: mark it.
In parallel you can check the received answers in each group. This is important in case you need to rank or evaluate the information, in a second step.
Gathering or grouping your decision-information in a chart or graph gives you overview for your “next weeks” Time-Mgmt. It´s also a good method for planning or delegating callbacks or open queries and it delivers answers of what´s done already!
Grouping your information is a great support when you start planning a relevant decision. It shortens the time for preparing the next step in your decision process. In my next post I´ll show an example –
BE A DECISION MAKER. BE OUTSTANDING.
