Learn From The BIG Ones In Biz
The big companies are outstanding, we see them, we notice their habits and market behaviour. And we´re effected once they act. We even copy some habits. Never copy – always improve their best!
The following is what I learned when working with big German Companies from the Automotive Supply Chain:
A: Production PLANT – have all worktools close to the production line or production place. What ever material you need to perform for your daily tasks, it must be reachable with the length of your arm. Be organized. Know where you place the material. Have students or volunteers for the time consuming “transportation-” or service jobs.
B: Production PLANT – have the instruction manual available for the assembly line work place or for handling the machine. Train your staff how to perform on a “0-fault” mission. Invest in their internal education. Support your team. Make it run. Offer trainings.
C: Organize your desk and office to have short ways in general. For some single jobs or small teams an “island” thinking is suitable. Have rules to follow.
D: Have a worst case- or worst szenario plan available and accessable for everyone. Make it visible for everyone, daily. Annually talk about it or even test it.
Organized work places are easy to follow once your kitchen or even your closet at home is organized and sorted. If you have to adjust to it at work, your private life will benefit from it. You don´t care about it? You will once you learn how much “spare” time is left for the important and urgent tasks which bring in the profit.
BE A DECISION MAKER. BECOME OUTSTANDING.
