Last time I considered the purchase of a new car when it comes to our Information Mgmt. (I.M.).
The same pattern is what we use for a one-time payment/purchase when looking for a new office or apartment. The choice for a new real estate is up to all the info we can and will gather when going for the best next decision.
BACK TO BUSINESS: lets looks at our products and the customer service. Gathering a lot of info is one thing which mostly allows some info of a rather demographic insight which is less individual oriented. The info we receive here is less specific than the one we go after once choosing a new office.
We simply don´t have access to such specific insights. It´s more a market trend we only can focus on.
Let me choose the APP trend for our mobile product flow: Many customers buy or rent APPs and the trend isn´t only valid for the younger generation. Here´s the BIG Question: what if these customers soon get older and won´t be at school anymore? What about their APPs once they´re out of university and working all day, sitting at the computer again? Is the APP just a booming trend which will become a virtual cemetery of funny colourful icons, left on a soft-touch screen?
Mobile rules a certain age (demographics) and probably half time employees but they can´t survive long-termly with a half day job or business model. Now, what about this booming APP trend? Is this flow going down the river or circling within the market? What if we don´t concentrate 100% on this trend anymore?
For sure, APPs are a tool for our personal Information Mgmt. and information is always in a flow. Data is what makes the biz grow. It´s the oil or fuel which makes the motor of our businesses run and which opens the doors to let customers get in. It is flexible, it´s a variable factor and it will never be fix in a time of change.
How can we copy the APP-model and use this trend for our internal I.M. structure in our businesses? It starts with a decision…..
