…..if it is what you THINK you know!
There are four traps we use to stumble in when we prepare and make decisions. C. & D. Heath just wrote about it in their book “Decisive”:
- You encounter a choice. But narrow framing makes you miss options
- You analyze your options. But the confirmation bias leads you to gather self-serving info
- You make a choice. But short-term emotion will often tempt you to make the wrong one
- Then you live with it. But you´ll often be overconfident about how the future will unfold
Fact is that any “pro and con´” approach is not suited to fight these four intruders of our decision making. And for now, I keep it short today.
We´re heading towards Christmas and I guess these days it´s more about deciding which wish to put on the gifts-list and which gift to buy as a surprise….. I am wishing everyone a lot of fun deciding!
BE A DECISION MAKER. BE OUTSTANDING.
