Last week I was watching the news and suddenly the sports sector about “soccer” grabbed my attention!
There is a discussion going on by the FIFA (Fédération Internationale de Football Association) about faultless decision making within soccer games. It looks like the only person who still can “make” wrong decisions is the referee, and of course one of the line judges. Everyone else (soccer players) is already under such a media control that a human judging of what was going-on can easily be proved by visible facts.
Suddenly there is an option for faultless decision making! A certain electronic device can exactly tell whether the ball was inside the goal (past the line) – or not! It might make a lot of sense for the World Championships where automatically a lot of money is involved, paid by a huge audience, and also a lot of motivation is involved.
But some other voices now get loud: Where is the action then for the audience? Where will be the last kick? What about the last thing all viewers can get emotional about? What about the effect?
Yet, there is no final decision. Still, a device only needs its existence in sports just in case the goalkeeper makes a mistake. But this is sports! Right? Would you agree to the final option of buying a ticket for a faultless sports event?
What is your opinion about such a potential decision? Thanks for your comment –
BE A DECISION MAKER. BE OUTSTANDING.
