The future is unpredictable but we all can create it. No, wait – we have to create it! Management guru Peter Drucker exactly got it to the point: “the best way to predict the future is to create it.” (INC. magazine 12/2014, page 38)
Entrepreneurs who build a business today in 2015 will benefit from their pioneers who laid tracks to produce cheaper and easier. With the right biz idea we are able to reach millions of customers. Fast. And technology is the speed train. Logistics got a new face.
With crowdfunding, some new companies will make it to breathe on their own real fast. But following the INC. magazine´s article on page 39, one of the biggest challenges for the new era of entrepreneurs is regulations. Roadblocks, set-up fast from the big Goliat´s to hinder the small but fast growing David´s in their market place. And with medicine, education and artificial intelligence a lot of change is coming!
The first and important solution to this new wave is to make smart decisions. Your decision “decides” whether your new company goes on, it decides how far and how long-termly you go on, it points to the direction you go, it keeps your business idea either flexible for the next change or roadblock, or it runs it rather instable.
Does your new biz idea support or ruin a large secondary business, which is directly connected to your product? This is one of the main aspects to consider because there lies the chance or the danger for your business´ future growth or struggles. The more you walk towards the danger zone, the more you will face new decisions for relevant survival-corrections. Instead, a great advice you get in the INC. article is to attack the world´s biggest challenges. They deliver your ideal business opportunities!
“Pivot with your purpose”, says Esther Dyson on page 40. I complete her next sentence and change it to: “Your purpose is the starlight which always leads you to the answer of what to do when things aren´t working”.
Growing a business with stability is all about the daily action and action is inevitable driven by the decisions.
…. BUT WHAT IS GOING TO HELP YOU MOST?
Taking the right daily decisions strategically ask for a clear biz direction. Have a clear mission for the next week or the next month.
EASY & CHEAP:
Set up a weekly “to do” plan for every employee and give them the time to fulfill their regular tasks as well. Either way how “hot” the start up phase runs now, summarize the results every week for half an hour or once a month. Then decide whether it´s relevant to go-no and follow this strategy or to change the tactic if expected results come in fast or don´t come in at all.
BE A DECISION MAKER. BECOME OUTSTANDING.
