Do You Suffer The “Comprehensive Cover” Mindset?
Lately I had a couple of conversations about our decision making in life and about the culture we live in. In this small group we shared discussions where “we” came from and where the new age mentality leads the overall direction in our culture. And then there was this 1 comment which I picked-up: “our culture carries and lives a comprehensive cover (insurance) mindset.”
THERE IT WAS! BOOM!
Bulls eye.
>> What does a comprehensive cover (car insurance) offer to the user?
Full cover / payment after any damage or car accident. Exactly!
>> What´s the result of a permanent usage? People lack the feeling of being responsible.
Fully responsible. Opposite: they look for chances to avoid being responsible.
The same result may happen if you can afford every insurance you need in life which would allow you to do everything you want – without ever being resonsible for the results you “produce”. That would also allow to use a “playing-games modus” in their life.
Both kinds of leading such a luxury life allows people to make every decision they look for, knowing it´ll work out for them in any case. Either today or tomorrow.
>> Where is their personal responsibility? It´s gone, I guess….
Since almost 3 years now, I write blog-post about decision making twice a week.
Still, I did not concentrate on a certain target group which is my new goal for 2016ff. By now I figured out that my target group includes people who either look for being responsible (i.e. strong-minded teenagers or students with clear goals) or for those who are responsible for their actions.
Blogging from 2016 on will exclude game-players who tend to damage other peoples personal goals or results. Right here I already say “good-bye” to them – unless you decide now to chance places, then of course, you´re most welcome to stay as my reader. Thank you!
BE A DECISION MAKER. BE OUTSTANDING.
