In my last BLog-post I wrote about the A-B-C analysis which is a great method to figure out your main goals, in life and in business. Goals lead you to the path of success and the main goals are your A-priorities. They are as important as VIPs and your daily activities circle around them like fans.
How do you notice your
It´s the one which brings you close to your main goal(s), therefore it´s important and urgent. There are days when you can only work a little on them and on other days it may take you half of your day activities to work on accomplishing the tasks. A single information will turn into the leading commander and the demand of it will tell you what to do next.
Your A-priority is the Autobahn to your next big goal as a destination, and it helps you finishing the big contract to bring-in another project. It´s either the opportunity for another contract or you may have received a new biz-contract and to fulfill it, you need to prepare internally and gather the relevant information.
Let´s look a little deeper:
The Opportunity Priority:
In case you´re close to a new contract, in competition with another company, you may now bring the relevant information to the potential customer, to polish your USP. It could either be correcting the offer you´ve launched by a certain figure for boosting the receivers attention or you may add some benefits for the customer.
To be sure to still make profit with the result, you should know how far you can go with your “corrections” or extra benefits. That´s the A-priority, therefore work on it like hell and then – send it out. That´s the moment to let go of it to work on the next project. Use the turn-around effect. Important and urgent is the formula.
The Internal Priority:
in case you just received the OK for the new project, it´s the new customer who is your VIP! Your new A-priority is the demand of the new customer – make sure that everyone who´s involved is now ready for the action which the new demand asks you for. Have an internal milestone plan, an agenda, a process of who´s in permanent touch with whom and who contacts whom next. The people at START should know that the shot is fired off for their internal “GO!” and then work on it until you can hand the next task over to the next person “in line”. Make sure that a clear cooperation is at work to make the project run without asking each of the people for their feedback. Internal freelance work is the VIP´s best friends word! Important and urgent is the formula.
To stay active and to avoid burn-outs in your company or with yourself, be sure to not run too many A-priority projects in your company at once. The magic formula is the balance between new projects, running projects and those which end soon.
Have a proven formula for A-priorities!
BE A DECISION MAKER. BE OUTSTANDING.
